3D Power presents Dewan Devdi, which was once the beautiful palace of the Salar Jung nobles. There were five people from the family of the Salar Jungs who served as Prime Ministers of the erstwhile Hyderabad State. The palace is situated nearCharminar and Chow Mahalla Palace in Hyderabad. Dewan Devdi palace once housed all the rare collections and artefacts, which you can see in Salar Jung Museum.
The entrance of the palace (which now razed to the ground), is marked by two gateways, one on the northern side along Chatta Bazaar and another opposite Madina Hotel. These gateways were built in Regional Mughal Variation (known as RMV Style), illustrated by arches, canopies and projected balconies with windows called as "Jharokas". The one on the northern side is a double storied gateway consisting of three cusped arches, one inside and the other leading to what was once a huge courtyard.
The northern gate was meant for the visitors from the north. The first floor over the gate was used for playing "Roshan Chowki" and drums thrice a day and on special occasions when some dignitaries visited the Devdi. Though the palace building no more exists, the threshold of the palace stands even today, giving you the impression of the grandeur Devdi and the avenues inside.
We at 3D Power believe that due to the negligence of the later governing bodies, the magnificent palace has now changed into a transport and shopping complex selling all the ordinary things. Many of the people, who earn their living from the shops they have put up here, barely know the significance of this erstwhile palace. This just reflects the little disregard of their people in lineage, negligence of the authorities in power and general lack of interest of the citizens.
